Semen Collection Process

Collection: Semen is safely collected using an artificial vagina (AV) as the stallion mounts a dummy mare, providing a controlled environment for both the stallion and the collection process.
Assessment and Extender Medium: After collection, the semen is immediately assessed for quality, with optimal sperm concentration ranging from 30-50 million sperm per 1 ml. The semen is then placed in an extender medium, to protect it from temperature changes during storage and transit.
Shipping and Quality Control: We coordinate reliable semen transport through services, with same-day delivery to Melbourne and Sydney. A sample is retained for in-house quality control to confirm the semen's viability upon arrival at its destination.

Performance Stallions: Your stallion can continue his training or competition schedule while staying at Davidson Equestrian. Our facility is designed to meet the needs of high-performance stallions, enabling them to remain in peak condition.
Purpose-Built Facilities: Stallion paddocks feature 6 ft high cattle rail fencing and electric standoffs, offering a secure and safe environment throughout your stallion’s stay.
